FULL DAY PARACAS / ICA – HUACACHINA | PERU

The desert and the sea come together in stunning landscapes in PARACAS. Pacific Ocean shore is for those with an interest in archaeology, lovers of boating, aquatic sports and wildlife watchers. From Paracas Bay you can visit the Ballestas Islands, a good alternative for cultural historical attractiveness and visit the marine reserve or stay for relaxed moments, excellent for desert adventures, nautical sports as windsurf, katesurfing, scuba diving, deep sea fishing and more.

ICA boasts characteristic dunes and fertile fields inhabited by ancient cultures: The Paracas and the Nazca. Land of valley, sun, beaches and a Natural Reserve inhabited by a lush variety of flora and fauna, it is also a mysterious land of villages, home of fine wine and «Pisco», Afro-Peruvian music, and an oasis like the Huacachina, a life in the heart of a blanket of sand.

TOUR DESCRIPTION:

This adventure starts from the hotel pick up in Lima by a professional driver in a private transportation and will be transferred to the BAY OF PARACAS (03 hours).

Upon your arrival, you will be met by our local guide who will lead you to the port and board a speed boat to visit the Ballestas Islands, during the excursion to the Islands you will see various spots of interest, among them, stands out a huge design etched on the slope of hill on faced of the ocean, known by the local people as “Candelabro” this is a mysterious figure which has an origin unknown to this day.

Another attraction are thousands of see birds above the Islands (guanay bobby, Pelicans, Cormorants and, gulls and others), as well as hundreds of sea lions on the shore of the beaches, and the famous Humboldt Penguins.

After a boat tour, you will return to the mainland and you will take a break of half an hour so you can have a coffee in the bay or simply go shopping at the small craft market in the area.

To continue with our tour we go to the south where you will visit the CITY OF ICA and its TRADITIONAL VINEYARDS OF PISCO (our NATIONAL ALCOHOLIC DRINK) where you will be able to taste its great flavor and variety.

To end the day, you will visit DUNES OF ICA and its famous lagoon called HUACACHINA, where you will have an excursion in dune buggy machine to explore surround of this great OASIS OF HUACACHINA, you will cross much of the desert going up and down the dunes and our professional driver will does different stops so you can appreciate the scenery and take pictures.

From the top of a large dune our instructor guide will show you how to practice SANDBOARDING in a safe way.

After an intense adventure we return to HUACACHINA to walk around the lagoon and make a stop to have a drink on your own.

Finally you will board our private vehicle and return to the city of Lima where our driver will leave you at your respective hotel.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

• On this tour you must bring light clothing, the weather in Ica usually is hot, especially in summer time (from December to March) when the temperatures can reach 35°C / 104°F and the rest of the year the average is 24°C / 76°F.
• We suggest to bring sun block, a hat and sun glasses.
