Learn from the hand of a local guide the ancient city of Lima full of stories, curiosities and traditions and the contrast of its modern districts of Miraflores and San Isidro located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean and where you will live a unique experience through the history of Peru and the archaeological evidence that Larco Museum keeps.

 

  • PRE-HISPANIC LIMA: shows us a pre-Inca temple called “Huaca Pucllana” imposing ceremonial and religious center built in the 4th century AD. where today the district of Miraflores has grown and where part of our culture and history is still preserved.

 

  • COLONIAL LIMA: we walk through the Historic Center of Lima where you will appreciate its streets full of monuments and colonial buildings from the 17th century and considered the capital of the Viceroyalty during almost 300 years of conquest.
  • CONTEMPORARY LIMA: we will visit the most traditional residential areas of the city of Lima as: The Olivar Park in San Isidro that protects more than 1600 olive trees and Parque del amor in Miraflores, where an imposing sculpture of “El BESO” stands out with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean from the cliff.
  • LARCO MUSEUM: Impressive private collection of 45,000 pieces among ceramics, textiles and metals corresponding to diverse pre-Hispanic cultures that stands out in Latin America, it is also worth mentioning its Erotic gallery and the garden that decorates the Museum of the XX century.

    • LOVE PARK, where stands out the sculpture of ”El Beso” designed by a Peruvian artist on the boardwalk of Miraflores with an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean.
    • KENNEDY PARK, is the central park of the tourist district of Mirafloes where gastronomic, cultural, ecological and recreation activities stand out.
    • Panoramic visit to the archaeological zone ”HUACA PUCLLANA” (pre-Inca temple built 1,500 years ago by the Lima culture) surrounded by modern buildings in the exclusive district of Miraflores.
    • Visit to the district of San Isidro and the ”EL OLIVAR Park” where the first olive trees introduced by the Spanish XVI century are preserved and protected.
    • Pedestrian route through the HISTORICAL CENTER OF LIMA declared by UNESCO as ”Cultural Heritage of Humanity” that keeps in its streets an attractive eclectic architecture, historic events and memorable monuments:
    1.  PLAZA SAN MARTIN inaugurated in s. XX in honor of General Don José de San Martin, who declared the independence of Peru.
    2.  DE LA UNIÓN pedestrian street embellished with architecture of European influence that connects the two most important squares of the historic center: Plaza Mayor and Plaza San Martín.
    3.  PLAZA MAYOR where the foundation of the ”City of the Kings” was declared in 1535 by the conquistador Francisco Pizarro and donates today the CATHEDRAL OF LIMA, PALACIO DE GOBIERNO Y   MUNICIPALIDAD DE LIMA.
    • CHOCOLATE MUSEUM, where you will enjoy the best cocoa bean in the world and it is Peruvian. You can also taste our version of PISCO + CHOCOLATE.
    • SANTO DOMINGO CONVENT of the XVII century, built by the first order that arrives in Peru with the Spaniards, the Dominicans, and where is the tomb of St. Rosa de Lima (Patroness of Lima, America and the Philippines) and San Martin de Porras (the first mulatto saint in America). You can also go up to the BELL TOWER of 46 mt. high to appreciate a better view of the historic city of Lima and surroundings.
    • SAN FRANCISCO CONVENT and CATACOMBS, highlights the underground vaults beneath the church and considered graves during the colonial era.
    •  RAFAEL LARCO MUSEUM, all the halls of the permanent collection will be visited with 45,000 pieces, highlighting the funerary pieces and jewelry in gold and silver from pre-Inca cultures, the museum’s deposit and the famous erotic room will also be known.
